What does a veteran look like?

One Savvy Veteran founder, Meosha Thomas, participated in the campaign "this is what we look like" which raises awareness of women in male dominated fields. "I joined the "This is What We Look Like" campaign because too often when you think of a military veteran, women are not your first thought, yet we are serving proudly. We are dying and being injured. We are leading and succeeding. One day, I volunteered to speak to a class about being a veteran. As I stood up to speak, one of the children asked "Where is the veteran?" I joined the campaign as a reminder to America that women serve too! Seeing these photos encourages me to continue to do my part and advocate for women and be a voice of empowerment. We can all do our part. It is as simple as putting on a t-shirt."
